Traveling in a motorhome is one of the best ways to spend quality time with your family. Unfortunately, when it comes to sleeping arrangements, some smaller motorhomes fall short when it comes to overall comfort.

Converting the dinette or folding out the sofa every night can become somewhat troublesome at times. The most challenging part of this is the next morning. If mom and dad get up early and want to start the day of with a pot of coffee, traversing an obstacle course without waking the kids can be downright daunting. The Winnebago Outlook 31N tops our list of Class C motorhomes for a family of 4. This is the smallest motorhome in our list, but the floorplan is spacious enough for the whole family. In addition, the convertible dinette is in the slide-out giving mom and dad access to the kitchen without obstructions.

Starting in the Master bedroom, there is a 60” X 75” Queen-sized bed located in a slide-out. This expands the room to give enough room to walk on both sides of the bed and provide a dresser and closet across from the foot of the bed.

The toilet and vanity sink are located just across the hall from the shower, which can be beneficial if someone needs to use the restroom while someone else is showering.

In the main living area, the booth style dinette and pull-out sofa bed provide sleeping space for up to 4 people, plus the over-cab bunk provides an additional sleeping space. In fact, the kids will fight for the over-cab bunk because it’s where the TV is located.

The Thor Chateau 30D features a bunkhouse floorplan with a sleeping capacity of up to 10 people. If you are interested in finding a motorhome that is comfortable for a family of 4, look no further.

The Master bedroom features a 60” X 75” Queen-sized bed with enough space to walk around the entire bed. In addition, there are twin nightstands, a large closet for storage, and an additional dresser for packing clothes.

The bunk beds in this Class C motorhome are located just outside the Master bedroom. The top bunk can be folded up to utilize the dinette underneath when not in use.

The spacious living area is equipped with a large sofa and 71” dinette, which is the perfect size for a family of 4.

The Coachmen Freelander 30BH is a great Class C motorhome for beginners with a family of 4. With sleeping space for up to 10 people, there is plenty of room for additional friends and family to tag along on the trip.

The Master bedroom features a residential Queen-sized bed with more than enough room to walk around. The best part of this room is the massive amounts of storage space. There are a total of 16 cabinets and drawers in this room!!

Just outside the Master is the bunkhouse. Don’t worry, there is a solid wood pocket door to separate the two. The bottom bunk, also a convertible dinette, measures in at 30” X 68”. The upper bunk is slightly larger at 30” X 74”, perfect for taller teenagers or adults.

At the front of the coach is the traditional cab-over bunk, which is built with taller people in mind. It measures a whopping 57” X 95”.

The main living area provides additional sleeping space for up to 4 more people, if needed. In addition, the sofa is wide enough for three large adults to sit comfortably.

One minor drawback of this Class C motorhome for a family of 4 is the small kitchen. There is very little cabinet space, however, Coachmen designed it to “wrap”, instead of impeding traffic flow through the coach.
