Construction Of The Kodiak Cub

For starters, to keep the weight of these travel trailers down, Dutchmen uses lightweight and durable materials in their construction.
Floor Structure
Starting with the floor structure, every Kodiak Cub floorplan has a fully enclosed underbelly which provides several useful benefits. First, it protects the underside of the travel trailer form road debris, mud, and grime from coating the underbelly.
An enclosed underbelly will also help protect water pipes from freezing in the winter as it helps trap some of the heat from the cabin area.
For strength and stability, the main frame is constructed with a powder coated steel, which contains a Darco moisture barrier.
On top of the moisture barrier, this lightweight travel trailer features a patented composite floor decking, lightweight aluminum frame with block foam insulation, and finally, a linoleum floor covering.

Wall Construction
Starting on the exterior of the Kodiak Cub, the walls are constructed of lightweight fiberglass panels with a Lauan backing.
The main wall supports are manufactured with an aluminum frame with foam block insulation, which keeps the cold air in during the summer, and the heat in during the winter.
And finally, the last layer of the wall construction is another panel with Lauan backing.
