A bunk bed floorplan in a Class C RV allows for more sleeping capacity without the need to convert the dinette every night while also giving the kids their very own sleeping space.

What Is A Class C Motorhome?

Class C motorhomes are the middle ground between the huge Class A RVs and the smaller Class B vans. They are great for larger families and can be purchased at a lower price point than its Class A counterpart. Class C motorhomes are available in lengths ranging from around 21 feet all the way up to around 42 feet and are also available with gas or diesel engines. The most recognizable feature of these RVs is the bunk hanging over the cockpit.

Class C motorhomes will give you more space than a Class B and are generally smaller than the Class A.  Motorhome manufacturers know there isn’t a one-size-fits all approach when building these RVs. That’s why there are so many different floorplans and options available. In this post, we are going to look at 5 amazing Class C motorhomes with bunk beds. Let’s jump in…

Benefits Of Class C Motorhomes

The main benefit of a Class C motorhome is they are extremely easy to drive. Since they are typically built on a van chassis, many Class C owners claim they are like driving a van.

Another great positive is price when compared to a larger Class A. Class C RVs are generally much cheaper to purchase than the Class A.

The bunk that hangs over the cab can be used for sleeping space or extra storage if needed. I have a feeling that if you have a Class C motorhome with a bunk bed floorplan, the cab-over bunk will be used for extra storage.

Drawbacks Of Class C Motorhomes

The biggest drawback of a Class C motorhome is the size of the holding tanks. As you can see from the list above, the holding tanks aren’t very big. Of course, that is in comparison to the much larger class A RVs.

In addition, the fuel tanks are generally smaller than larger motorhomes which means more frequent stops to fill up. The silver lining on stopping more is it gives you a chance to stop at unique stores like Buc-ee’s, for example.

The last drawback of a Class C motorhome is the lack of basement storage space. Class A motorhomes and travel trailers, like a fifth wheel have tons of basement storage while the Class C has minimal space.

In Conclusion

If you have a large family or if you have kids that like to invite friends along, a Class C motorhome with bunk beds might be a viable option for you. What are your thoughts on these Class C motorhomes? Would you ever consider any of these listed? Leave us a comment below and let us know.
